Grade 12 Projection
Enter your average for each year you have finished. The projection follows your most recent trend and gives a likely range for Grade 12. It is an estimate, not a prediction of any one course.
How to use it
- Enter your yearly averages for at least two grades.
- Read the projected Grade 12 average and its range.
- Compare the range with the programs you are aiming for.
How it is worked out
The projection takes your latest yearly average and adds half of the change from the year before. If you went from 84% to 88%, it projects 88 + 2 = 90%.
The range is 3 points either side. Half the trend is used because improvement usually slows as marks get higher and Grade 12 courses get harder.
Common questions
How accurate is a projection?
It is a rough guide. It knows nothing about which courses you will take, and Grade 12 U courses are usually harder than Grade 11. Treat the range, not the single number, as the answer.
Do Grade 9 and 10 marks count for university?
No. Ontario universities use Grade 12 U/M marks for final offers and Grade 11 marks for early offers. Earlier marks only matter here as evidence of your trend.
